Cornwall, Clarendon seek to strengthen daCosta Cup quarter-finals position
The
quarter-finals round of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition will continue
on Saturday with all 16 teams that are left in the competition, taking the
field at five venues.
While there
are some interesting matchups, the contest between 12-time champions Cornwall
College and Manchester at St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) at 3 p.m.
should be the highlight of the round.
Cornwall
lead Zone Two of the quarter-finals round, as they defeated Garvey Maceo 1-0 in
the first set of matches, while Maggotty and Manchester played to a 0-0 draw.
Defending
champions Clarendon College will also be looking to place themselves in a
commanding position in Zone One, when they oppose Cedric Titus High at
Manchester at 3 p.m.
Clarendon
lead on goals scored over Anchovy as they recorded a 2-1 victory over Manning’s
School in the first match with Anchovy defeating Cedric Titus 1-0.
