DJ Venom dies in traffic collision
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Popular disc-jockey Raymond Peart, better known as DJ Venom, and a female student of the University of Technology died last night following a collision on the Spanish Town Bypass in St Catherine.
Peart was employed to the RJR Communications Group and was a DJ on Fame 95. The female student has been identified as 21-year-old Abigail Rowe of March Pen Road in the parish.
According to the police about 10:00 pm Peart was driving his motorcycle along the Spanish Town Bypass heading towards Old Harbour.
It is reported that on reaching the vicinity of March Pen Road a collision occurred with Rowe, who was a pedestrian.
They both sustained multiple injuries and were transported to the Spanish Town Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, the police said.
