Jamaica recorded 44 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica recorded 44 new positive COVID-19 cases yesterday and one death bringing the infection total to 49,712 and total deaths to 1,034.
According to reports from the Ministry of Health and Wellness the new cases comprise of 31 females and 13 males within the ages of four-years-old and 83-years-old.
These cases were recorded in St Catherine (12), Kingston and St Andrew (nine), Clarendon (six), Westmoreland (four), Manchester (three), Portland, St Elizabeth and St Mary (two each), Hanover, St James, St Thomas and Trelawny (one each)
Dead is a 55-year-old male from St Elizabeth.
The country had 173 recoveries bringing the total to 28,793, resulting in 19,517 active cases.
Currently, 136 people are still hospitalized; six of which are critically ill, while 28 are moderately ill.
