Jamaica featured in new Apple Watch bands collection

Jamaica is among several countries that have been featured in Apple’s new International Collection Watch Sport Loop bands.

On Tuesday (June 29), the tech giant released twenty two new sport loop bands representing twenty two countries with matching downloadable watch faces.

The effort is being done in the spirit of the upcoming Olympic Games and Jamaica joins the likes of the United States, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Great Britain, Germany and others.

Described as colourful and bold the bands were designed “to celebrate the indescribable drive and competitive spirit of all athletes and fans” according to a release from Apple. Jamaica is considered a powerhouse in the sport of track and field and is the only Caribbean country to be represented in the group. Jamaica is known for its sprinting prowess having taken a number of gold medals over the short distances.

The limited-edition bands have been described as soft, breathable, and lightweight and are available in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm. Both will retail for a cool $49 USD.

The band comes with the App Clip functionality to easily download the matching country’s stripe face. Additionally, customers can download any of the 22 faces from their website and also use Face Sharing to share with other Apple Watch users.
