Stock Roundup: Kingston Properties leads gains with 16% jump
Kingston Properties Limited led gains in trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) on Friday.
The real estate investment company’s stock climbed 16 per cent to close at $8.70.
Another double-digit winner, GWEST Corporation Limited ordinary shares rose 15.53 per cent to close at $1.19.
The biggest loser was MPC Caribbean Clean Energy Limited which declined 21.21 per cent to close at $117.00. KLE Group Limited declined by 19.71 per cent to close at $1.10 and Sterling Investments Limited USD declined 16.52 per cent to close at US$0.02.
JSE market activity on Friday resulted in the trading of 92 stocks of which 34 advanced, 44 declined and 14 traded firm.
The Jamaican dollar market Volume (excluding blocks) amounted to 14,722,900 units valued at $143,740,777.44. The US dollar market volume (excluding blocks) amounted to 33,598 units valued at $12,823.00.
Volume leader was Future Energy Source Company Limited Ordinary shares with 6,740,239 units, amounting to 45.78 per cent of the market volume. The stock declined by 1.49 per cent to close at $1.32 in value.
Pulse Investments Limited saw 977,680 units changing hands, amounting to 6.64 per cent of the market volume. Pulse declined 3.46 per cent to close at $4.19 at the end of trading.
Wigton Windfarm Limited ordinary shares saw volumes of 749,981 units, amounting to 5.09 per cent of the market volume. The wind farm stock declined 1.69 per cent to close at 58 cents per unit in value.
