Jamaica reports 35 new COVID-19 cases, two more deaths
KINGSTON, Jamaica —Jamaica on Thursday reported 35 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases reported on the island to 129,168.
According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the country also reported three virus-related deaths. The death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 2,924.
Of the newly reported cases, there were 23 females and 12 males with ages ranging from one day to 108 years.
The cases were recorded in Clarendon (three), Kingston and St Andrew (eight), St Ann (four), St Catherine (three), St Thomas (one), St James (15) and Westmoreland (one).
Meanwhile, the latest deaths are:
1. An 85-year-old male from St James who died in January 2022.
2. A 77-year-old female from St James and a 51-year-old male also from St James whose deaths were previously under investigation.
The country also recorded 83 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 82,365.
The country’s positivity rate now stands at 6.4 percent
