KINGSTON, Jamaica — Popular vlogger Sir P of Politricks Watch says no amount of “intimidation” will stop his movement.

He was responding to a warning issued by attorney-at-law Donovan Collins, who represents popular dancehall producer Linval Thompson Jr, also known as Shab Don.

On Wednesday, in a video posted to Shab Don’s social platforms, Collins accused Sir P of defaming his client and warned that he was prepared to unmask the mystery vlogger if he does not desist.

Shab Don was the subject of a police investigation recently where he faced gun charges and had been in police custody since October 2021. He was, however, freed of all charges when he appeared in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston earlier this month.

Despite Shab Don being freed of all charges, Collins said the producer’s involvement in criminal activities is still being questioned by Sir P, a situation which the lawyer said is tarnishing his client’s reputation.

But in a video posted to his YouTube Channel Thursday morning, Sir P said the move did not come as a surprise as he was already aware of several attempts by the producer and his lawyer to get him cancelled.

“These people think they are playing chess, but in reality ah snake and ladders,” the anonymous vlogger said.

One such attempt included a YouTube report which, according to Sir P, backfired on the producer.

Displaying an email he received regarding a report on his channel, Sir P said: “Dem a talk like seh a sumn weh dem a guh go, sumn dem a guh try and dem a guh — but here’s the thing people of Jamaica, yard and abroad, when dem try dem likkle tactics and this is just one of them [as you can see], this one was sent 10 days ago to me by Youtube — when dem send dem likkle tactics, it look like smaddy never explain to them how this thing work.”

Sir P said the feud between him and Shab Don started in 2020 over remarks he made in one of his vlogs.

Sir P, who was trending on Twitter all morning, also questioned the reputation of the producer’s lawyer and begged the attorney to carry through on his threat and “unmask” him.

He also issued a warning to other individuals who may aspire to unmask him, saying intimidation tactics will not work.

“At no point, I want anybody listening to this to think that they can use any form of intimidation whether it is violence or any kind of legal intimidation to stop this movement. It’s not going to happen. My country means the most to me, the future of my country means the most to me. Even if I have to become a martyr, so be the case, people live and die every single day. We can pretend like we nuh see wah gwaan in the country, like we don’t see the people who a mash up the country and hope for the best. Nuff people are happy with doing that, I am not doing that. I decided, at least a couple years now that will not be. I am going to do something about it and this is my small way of doing something about it and it has gathered similar people, people who are like minded,” he shared.

“Jamaica is an acidic culture. Jamaica is full of acidic people. I don’t know if they are the majority or the minority but what I do know is even if every single Jamaican was to take the side of people like the snake and I have to fight this battle alone, so be it. Back in the early days, this movement had no support. People used to laugh and seh a joke ting dis but my desire to see my country a better place is greater than my desire for peace of mind.

“Do you have any idea how many times this happen already? Do you have any idea how many other lawyers do the same thing?…You think you are on to something groundbreaking. You think you have me cornered…This is nothing new,” Sir P said.
