Donovan Collins, the attorney-at-law representing popular dancehall producer Linval Thompson Jr, also known as Shab Don, has issued a warning to bloggers to cease and desist from spreading what he dubs as false and damaging information about his client.

Shab Don was the subject of a police investigation recently where he faced gun charges and had been in police custody since October 2021. He was, however, freed of all charges when he appeared in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston earlier this month.

In a video posted to Shab Don Records’ official Instagram page, Collins said his client is a well-established businessman who is uninvolved in criminal activities. He added that statements made by one popular vlogger, in particular, have hurt the reputation of the dancehall producer.

“Linval Thompson Jr is a partner of Shab Don Records, which is a well-established recording company. Now, Mr Thompson Jr has been the victim of several defamatory videos which have been posted by popular vlogger Sir P, of Politricks Watch. Sir P of Politricks Watch has sent out several videos and in these videos, he has clearly stated that Linval Thomspin Jr is involved in several crimes, murders, shootings and also that he is part of gang activities,” Collin said.

Collins categorically denied the allegations, noting that he is prepared to unmask Sir P if he does not desist from defaming his client.

“We intend to take all the necessary legal steps to ensure that Mr Thompson Jr’s reputation is protected. Now I know that Sir P has been hiding behind a wall, but I would like Mr Sir P to know there are steps that can be taken legally to tear down that wall so that the public can know who you are,” he said.

He continued: “These defamatory videos have caused Mr Linval Thompson to suffer severe reputational harm. It has also caused him to suffer damages and we are asking, well demanding that Sir P of Politricks watch cease and desist from publishing any further defamatory videos about Mr Linval Thompson Jr.”

Shab Don was freed of all firearm-related charges when he appeared in the Home Circuit division of the Gun Court in April.

OBSERVER Online understands that the prosecution offered no evidence against the record producer.

His co-accused, Romaro Scott was sentenced to six years and one month for illegal possession of firearm and four years and one month for illegal possession of ammunition. Both sentences will run concurrently.
