Tickets on sale for Reggae Sumfest
Tickets for this year’s staging of the popular music festival Reggae Sumfest are now on sale.
The event, which has not been staged physically since 2019 due to the pandemic, returns on July 18-23.
The announcement was made by Reggae Sumfest’s executive producer and CEO Joe Bogdanovich.
“Although we got off to a late start due to the continued uncertainties surrounding COVID-19, once the decision was made, the team pulled out all the stops to get things moving. We have plans in place and are confident that we will produce an even better show than 2019, which we can all agree was an outstanding performance”.
Bogdanovich stated that all tickets will be digital and will go live on the Reggae Sumfest website as well as in all Hardware & Lumber branches, select Fontana pharmacies, as well as at El Paso and Pier 1 in Montego Bay.
“Ticketing is a major aspect of the festival experience and we, like many other festivals around the world, have decided to go digital. Many other events in Jamaica have also gone digital and we believe that the time is right for us to move to the next level. We know that just about everyone in Jamaica has a cellphone, so the technology is in place to accommodate this initiative.” Bogdanovich said
This year’s festival week kicks off with the Sumfest Street Dance on Monday, July 18 , followed by Sumfest All White on July 19, Sumfest Blitz on July 20, and theSumfest Global Sound Clash on July 21. The Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre is set to come alive with the live stage perfromance of nights one and two of the festival on July 22 and 23.
The 2022 staging will boast five levels of tickets for the two festival nights including General Access, VIP, VIP centre stage, Ultra VIP seats and an Ultra Lux Lounge.
“We have created different areas within the venue to provide experiences for all patrons, from those who want to enjoy the show up close, front and centre and would purchase a centre stage ticket, for example, to those who want the ultimate luxury experience, who will purchase the Ultra Lux Lounge armband, which will be pre-sold only,” shared Barrington Daley, director of DownSound Entertainment which is promoting the event.
“The Sumfest audience has grown not only in numbers in the past few years but also in diversity. The team has, therefore, consistently adjusted the design of the venue to accommodate all parties comfortably and efficiently. In addition, several sponsors have been utilising Reggae Sumfest as a means of feting and rewarding loyal customers and they generally opt for the high-end experience,” added Daley.
