70 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, no deaths reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 70 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, April 24, bringing the infection total to 129,632.
The new cases comprise 44 females and 26 males, with ages ranging from one day to 108 years.
The cases were recorded in St James (18), Kingston and St Andrew (16), St Ann (12), Westmoreland (nine), St Catherine (five), Hanover and St Mary (three each), St Thomas (two), Trelawny and Manchester (one each).
No deaths were recorded for the period.
There were 62 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 83,068.
Currently, 23 people are hospitalised, two of whom are moderately ill.
The Health Ministry reported a positivity rate of 7.7 per cent.
