#PennRelays: Edwin Allen, Holmwood through to 4x800m final
PHILADELPHIA, United States – Defending champions Edwin Allen High, and Holmwood Technical are safely through to Saturday’s finals of the High School Girls’ 4x800m relay after easily qualifying in cold conditions at the 126th Penn Relays.
The relays got underway at Franklin Field in Philadelphia Thursday morning.
Edwin Allen were second in their heat, running 9:13.89 seconds with a team that included Rushana Dwyer, Jessica McLean, Rickesha Simms and Leanna Lewis.
They were beaten by Union Catholic of New Jersey who ran 9:13.08 seconds.
Holmwood Technical, who ran a team with Cindy Rose, Jody-Ann Mitchell, Samantha Pryce and Ysanne Peart, won their heat with 9:23.48 seconds, well ahead of William Penn Charter with 9:26.88 seconds.
The final will take place on Friday at 3:55 pm (2:55 pm Jamaican time).
