#PennRelays: Holmwood’s Samantha Pryce breaks leg at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA, United States – Holmwood Technical’s middle distance runner Samantha Pryce suffered a broken leg as she competed in the Championships of America 4×800 finals at the 126 th Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Friday afternoon.
Pryce fell on the metal rail that runs in the middle of the nine lane track and had to be taken off by medical personnel. A member of the management team later confirmed to the OBSERVER ONLINE she had suffered a broken leg and would undergo surgery at a local hospital.
Pryce, who was running her final race for Holmwood Technical, won the 2000m steeplechase and the 3000m Open at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Champs earlier in April.
She also won a gold and a silver medal for Jamaica at the recent 49th Carifta Games held in Jamaica, winning the Under- 20 girls 3,000m and placed second in the 1500m.
