Sandals supporting probe, families after guests’ passing
SANDALS Resorts International has confirmed that three guests at its Emerald Bay resort in Exuma, The Bahamas, died on Friday.
“A health emergency was initially reported and, following our protocols, we immediately alerted emergency medical professionals and relevant local authorities to provide support and investigate the situation,” the resort group said in a statement.
“We are actively working to support both the investigation as well as the guests’ families in every way possible during this difficult time,” Sandals said, adding that nothing is more important to the resort company than the safety of its guests.
“Out of respect for the privacy of our guests, we cannot disclose further information at this time,” Sandals said.
The Tribune newspaper reported Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper as saying that while the cause of death is unknown at this time, he was advised that foul play was not suspected.
