Barracks Road hunt back-to-back wins in Under-13 football
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Barracks Road Primary will go after back-to-back wins in Zone C of the St James Football Association Under-13 competition when they take on Bickersteth Primary in the first game of a double-header at Corinaldi Avenue Primary, set to start at 10:00 am.
Barracks Road are coming off a 4-0 win over St James Prep last week and will hope to take sole charge of the group at whose helm they currently lead along with Green Pond who beat Howard Cooke Primary yesterday.
It will be Bickersteth’s opening game of the season.
In the second game, Irwin Primary will hope to make up for last week’s loss to Chetwood Primary when they take on Anchovy Primary — who will be playing their first game of the season — in the second game.
On Monday, Lethe All-Age and Green Pond Primary both scored 3-0 win in their opening games, beating Maldon High and Howard Cooke Primary, respectively.
Mark Russell scored twice for Lethe All-Age and Ricardo Irving scored the other for the school who joined Flankers Primary on three points in Zone A.
In the second game Jeawardne Dunkley scored in the 17th minute, Myles Addison in the 25th, while Kevin Eccleston in the 48th minute carried Green Pond to their win over former champions Howard Cooke.
