No motive found yet after 9 shot, one fatally, on Donmair Close
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are yet to establish a motive for Saturday morning’s shooting of nine people, one fatally, on Donmair Close, Kingston 19.
The dead man has been identified as Sanjay Cousins, 32, a resident of Ambrook Lane in Kingston 10, who died after being shot in the head, chest and both hands.
Three women, one of whom is 17-year-old, are among the injured who have all been admitted to hospital.
The police say they are gathering more information and following some leads before establishing a definite motive. They say as further investigations are conducted, more info will be released.
It is reported that about 12:20 pm, the nine were among a group of people gambling at the premises when they were accosted by gunmen who opened fire.
When the shooting ended and the gunmen fled, it was discovered that the nine were injured. They were rushed to hospital where Cousins was pronounced dead.
