Three shot, one fatally at graduation in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS — Three people were shot outside a graduation ceremony at Xavier University in New Orleans on Tuesday.
According to an article from NBC News affiliate, WDSU, New Orleans police confirmed that an elderly woman was among those who succumbed to injuries sustained in the shooting.
Two men reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses on the scene described the events that unfolded as chaotic. WSDU reports that several guns were recovered from the crime scene and that police already have some people detained in connection with the shooting.
The New Orleans Police Department says the shooting stemmed from a fight outside the graduation ceremony between two women.
This incident comes less than two weeks after a triple shooting outside graduation in Hammond, Indiana where four people were shot and injured.
