Debbie Allen Leads Dance Tutorial In Jamaica

Dance aficionados, students of dance, choreographers and those with a sense of history took their seats either onstage or in the audience at the National Dance Theatre Company (Little Theatre) Friday last, ostensibly to witness a dance tutorial by US actress, dancer, film director and choreographer Debbie Allen. The masterclass was organised by Plié for the Arts in association with Sagicor Group Jamaica.

Allen’s graceful and mesmerising command of the stage left the audience in awe as she guided the Plié and Sagicor dancers from warm-up and multiple practice sessions to a high-octane world-class production. Naturally, as one does, when in the presence of an icon a show of a lifetime was put on.

Kudos to Marisa Benain, Plié for the Arts founder, for yet another impressive and meaningful innovation.
