#Daddyskincare André Sean Marriott-Blake
André Sean Marriott-Blake shows off the skincare products he swears by.

#Daddyskincare André Sean Marriott-Blake

Tuesday Style Dryer (TSD) continues to spotlight dads and their skincare routines for the month of June. Next up is attorney-at-law André Sean Marriott-Blake, who’s father to 15 month-old Cairo.

Ahead, a list of his skincare essentials, plus a straightforward but effective routine.

Cleanser/face wash

Last year for my first Father’s Day I was gifted a package with Morgan’s Creek Spurlina Invigorating Face Wash for Men and I have been an avid daily user ever since. What I love most about Morgan’s Creek is that, as a local brand, its products are handmade and leave my face feeling clean, refreshed, invigorated and ready to face the day after each use. I also love Morgan’s Creek Charcoal with Bentonite Deep Cleansing Face Wash for Men, which I use as an excellent alternative to the spurlina variation.

Moisturiser

My face moisturiser of choice is Bull Dog Skincare for Men Age Defence Moisturiser. The moisturiser is made with natural ingredients, and I particularly like that it has a very subtle fragrance and absorbs readily in my skin.

Lotion

My go-to lotion is Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Men Body & Face Lotion (Fresh Scent). It is effective in keeping my skin moist (but not oily) throughout the day, regardless of the weather; I also like that it does not have an overpowering fragrance.

Mask

Occasionally (about twice monthly) I apply Hurley For Men Charcoal Peel-Off Mask. This product effectively eliminates skin impurities, refreshes my skin and helps to prevent break-outs.

Cologne

My signature evening colognes are Dior Homme and Sauvage by Christian Dior. For casual occasions I sport Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme or Mr Burberry. As an attorney who interacts with a diverse cross section of people daily and whose workday can occasionally span beyond 12 hours, it is important that my cologne is pleasant, masculine and enduring, but not overly dominant or extreme. I find these scents work best for me in achieving this balance.

Beard care

As a proud member of the beard gang, beard care is essential to my daily routine. My facial hair grows fairly fast so I shave/groom my beard twice a week. As a beard wash, I use the Gent 2 in 1 Beard & Face Wash. My aftershave of choice is Dior Homme Balm Aftershave, which soothes my skin and helps to prevent razor bumps. On non-shaving days I use Cantu shea butter beard oil, or, the alternative, 876 bearded 100% natural beard oil, to moisturise my beard and the skin beneath.

Marriott-Blake’s skincare essentials include (from left) Dior Homme, Mr Burberry EDT, Morgan’s Creek Charcoal with Bentonite Deep Cleansing Face Wash and Apple Cider Vinegar & Castor Oil Turmeric Face Wash, Gent 2 in 1 Beard & Face Wash, Hurley Charcoal Peel-Off Mask, Cantu Men’s Collection Beard Oil, and Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Men Body & Face Lotion.
Morgan’s Creek Spirulina Invigorating Face Wash is Marriott-Blake’s fave cleanser.
