Jamaica Rum Festival delivers
The fourth staging of the Jamaica Rum Festival unfolded last Saturday at the historic Rose Hall Aqueduct in St James with scintillating performances, rum mixes, tasty food offerings, creative works from artisans, and spirited seminars.
The event delivered on its expected potpourri of sensory stimulation for patrons, as they had the opportunity to imbibe on the finest Jamaican rum offerings from Appleton Estate, Wray & Nephew, Hampden Estate, National Rums of Jamaica, Worthy Park Estate, Monymusk Plantation Rums, Rum Fire, Rum Bar, Kingston 62, and the 90-year-old Spirits Pool Association Limited.
Delicious food options, with main ingredients from CB Chicken and Copperwood Pork, as well as exposure to fine crafts and interactive seminars on rum production, pairings and mixology, were all well-received.
Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, the designated Official Spirit of Jamaica 60, also unveiled their commemorative limited-edition rum which features a 70 per cent proof liquid, described as a ‘flavourful, full-character rum’ with a natural fruity aroma and overtones of molasses.
Jamaica Rum Festival closed on a high with heavy-hitting performances from the billed acts including Kalyra, D’voyce, Runkus, D’Burnz, Sevana, Tessanne Chin, Romain Virgo, Sanchez, and Capleton.
