In Jamaica, carnival is much more than the final road march. It’s a combination of pre-events that typically set the tone for an epic season. This year, though the dates are decidedly different, Bacchanal Jamaica has not missed a soca beat! The high-energy soca vibes last Wednesday at the ultra-inclusive event ‘Premium’, held at Hope Zoo, attracted the country’s die-hard soca fans, plus a few newbies, to a setting of wild revelment. Thirsts were quenched in-between sips of Carib beer and Da Luca Prosecco. Kudos to the selections of DJs Travis World, Marlon and Barrie Hype among others, who showed their prowess with sets that will, we reckon, continue to be the talk well into next year.
