Amlak calls more dialogue
Rastafari singjay Amlak RedSquare is recommending that schools work closer with families. This, according him, could help reduce the level of indiscipline in schools.
“I strongly believe the school and families should work in partnership to not only hear issues which plague both parties, but offer recommendations and solutions. There are some serious issues parents are having and these are swept under the carpet. These issues affect our children who are not mature to deal with them or simply have no one to go to for advice,” he said.
Amlak RedSquare explains the need for parents to attend parent-teacher association meetings. In addition, schools should use part of their devotional exercise, inviting personnel in addressing social issues.
Amlak RedSquare (given name Omar Gordon) grew up in the McIntyre Villa community of Kingston. A former student of Excelsior High, he recorded more than 50 songs. They include Di Humble Warrior, Ganja Free, and Book of Judges.
