Strong police presence in Waterford following shooting
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – There is an increased police presence in the Waterford community in Portmore, St Catherine after one man was shot and injured in the area a short while ago.
The OBSERVER ONLINE understands that the victim was shot by unknown assailants. Deatils sorrounding the incident are sketchy at this time, but law enforcers say the man’s injuries are not considered life threatening.
This marks the third shooting incident in the St Catherine South Division today.
Armed thugs and lawmen traded bullets on Dyke Road in Portmore on Thursday morning. That incident left one man dead and four high-powered weapons now in police possession.

A police operation was also underway in Central Village, Spanish Town, St Catherine after police and gunmen were engaged in a gun battle. One man was reportedly shot in that incident and a firearm seized at the scene.
