Retro party to raise funds for poor girls
A party, dubbed Back in Di Daze will be held on Saturday, August 27, to raise funds for girls affected by period poverty — the inability to afford menstrual products when needed.
The event will be staged by Sagicor’s Field Managers’ Association (FMA), and funds raised will be given to HerFlow Foundation which was established to empower women and girls about reproductive health through education and mentorship. The foundation focuses most of its work in schools.
The event will be held at the Antigua Avenue and Grenada Crescent car park in New Kingston.
FMA is the representative body of Sagicor’s insurance field managers. Its aims and objectives include “the thrust to do everything conducive to the advancement of the welfare of all members of the association and the field force”.
“As part of our corporate responsibility, we support varying charities as community development and the wider Jamaica,” said a release from FMA.
