Record win for Seaforth High in D’Cup
ST THOMAS, Jamaica – Seaforth High scored a school record 11-0 win over winless Robert Lightbourne High in their ISSA daCosta Cup Zone L game played at Seaforth High, Blacksmith Lane, in St Thomas on Monday.
Shareef Ricketts led the scoring with four goals, Knashu Williams and Jovan Thomas both had two goals, Demoy Bailey and Jannar Beckford had one each while there was an own goal.
Seaforth High’s score is the widest so far in the daCosta Cup, just one goal better than Dinthill Technical’s 10-0 win over Enid Bennett on Saturday. There were 9-0 wins for Frome Technical over Merlene Ottey and Vere Technical over Winston Jones High while Rusea’s High has had two 7-0 victories.
Mannings School also beat Black River High 6-0 and Belair High and deCarteret College scored six against May Day High and Mt St Joseph Catholic respectively.
Despite their massive win, Seaforth are still third in Zone L after Paul Bogle High won their fourth straight game to go to 12 points and Yallahs High, who also recorded another win, to stay second with nine points.
Roshane Thomas scored the game’s only goal as Paul Bogle High edged Morant Bay High 1-0 and extended their unbeaten run against them to 12 games.
Yallahs High got their third win of the season and third in a row after losing to Seaforth in their opening game, edging St Thomas Technical 1-0.
In another game, BB Coke High scored their first win of the season, getting by Sydney Pagon High 3-1 in a rain interrupted game that was rescheduled from Saturday.
