For his latest project, singjay Dizzle JA wanted to show love to the ladies who have been, arguably, dancehall music’s biggest supporters. He threw in some shock value to spice things up.

Sex Tape is the title of his new album, scheduled for release on October 14. It has eight songs which hear him at his raunchiest.

“If yuh check di blueprint from back in di days with Shabba Ranks an’ all a dem man dey, dem did come raunchy wid dem girls lyrics. Di words cut deep an’ yuh sey, ‘Jah know, him really sey dat?’. Certain things I sey on dis album neva been said before, even in dancehall,” Dizzle JA told the Jamaica Observer.

The lanky artiste notes that while Sex Tape is risque, it is also a tribute to women who have been the backbone of dancehall music for many years. He points out that they purchase more music than men and have made a statement for years with outrageous costumes at live shows.

GPA, Trap Summa, and White Car are some of the songs from Sex Tape, which has Dizzle JA’s La-Fam Entertainment and 300 Records as co-producers and executive producers. For a cosmopolitan feel, he also worked with producers from the United States (Radar Music, Shawn Island) and Nigeria (Chil4Rill Movement).

Dizzle JA (real name Bertony Reynolds) was born in St Mary but grew up in St Thomas. His introduction to music came as a member of harmony group UWK, while he attended Morant Bay High School.

Money Move, a 2005 mixtape, was his first project as a recording artiste. He has since released several albums including BenZion and Dancehall Meets Trap.

Sex Tape, however, is Dizzle JA’s most sensational project to date.

“Di ladies dem a request more song from Dizzle JA, suh mi jus’ sey, ‘Yow, mi a guh do a album dedicated to di ladies suh dem can party’. When dem a clean dem house dem can dance to it, inna di party dem can dance to it ’cause is not a lotta woman song playing in di parties. So, dis is strictly for di ladies suh dem can bruk out an’ gwaan bad,” he said.
