Jamaican World Championships gold medallists Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson have been shortlisted among 10 nominees for the World Athletics Female Athlete of the Year, it was announced on Wednesday.
Fraser-Pryce, who won the award at the end of the 2013 season and Jackson who is being nominated for the first time, both had outstanding seasons, adding Diamond League titles to their World Championship titles and finished the season as the fastest in their respective events.

The 35-year-old, who was also second in the 200m at the World Championships behind Jackson, lost only one 100m race that she completed to Jackson at the Diamond League in Belgium.
Jackson, who won the sprint double at the Jamaican national senior championships, set a national record 21.45 seconds in winning her first World Championship individual gold medal, the second fastest time ever.
After losing her first 200m race of the season at the Doha Diamond League, Jackson won her next nine races and also won the 100m at the NACAC Open Championships in The Bahamas.
