A family, fun-filled event dubbed Heroes Explosion is slated for Resource, south Manchester, on Monday, October 17 (Heroes’ Day).

The event will feature live performances by from acts including Sizzla Kalonji, as well as rising Clarendon artiste Miguel Wealthy, and Cel Blak.

Artiste/producer ZJ Liquid is billed as guest disc jock, while the event will be hosted by Manchester’s Hype Type.

According to organisers, Hewitt Entertainment, Miguel Wealthy expressed his excitement for the upcoming event.

“It’s a joy to get to perform on any stage in Jamaica. I’m excited to show Manchester what I’m made of and have the girls bubbling to my new single Bubble,” he said.

The event organisers are seeking to host the event in a different parish annually. They chose Manchester as the first location for the event because it is central. The event is to give back to each community that hosts the event. As such, the organisers will provide a donation to a school in south Manchester after the event.

Miguel Wealthy also said, “We are not doing this for ourselves, we are doing it for the love of the culture and the music, but most of all we are doing it for the benefit of the people.”

Julia Hewitt of Hewitt Entertainment stated: “The event is for the whole family. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, so we want people to come out and spend Heroes’ Day with us. There will be many prizes and surprises for the children especially, a kids’ zone with rides, a dance competition, and other fun-filled activities. Also in the entertainment package will be a car and bike show.”
