Accident along Belmont Road, Westmoreland leaves several injured
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Traffic is at a standstill along the Belmont main road in Westmoreland following an accident that has left several occupants of a Toyota Corolla injured.
Unconfirmed reports are that a coaster bus caused the Toyota Corolla driver to veer off the road. The car then flipped on its side.
The injured have been transported to the Savanna-La-Mar Hospital where they are being treated.
Meanwhile, there is now also a pile-up of traffic as a Jamaica Public Service utility pole and several wires are down, blocking the main thoroughfare from Savanna-La-Mar to Kingston.
The police are advising persons to seek alternative routes until the utility company is able to clear the roadway.
