Business notes — December 14, 2022

November Traffic Report

Sangster International Airport (SIA) is reporting a 39 per cent year-over-year growth to 375,900 terminal passengers for November. This performance is eight per cent above the November 2019 figures of 348,200 passengers. Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) recorded a 69 per cent increase in air traffic to 131,700 passengers for November. SIA’s year-to-date traffic of 3.92 million passengers is 75 per cent higher than the 2.24 million passengers in January – November 2021 and eight per cent below the 4.25 million passengers in the 2019 period. NMIA had a 94 per cent increase in year-to-date traffic of 1.40 million passengers.

Market Sales & Events

A connected party of Mayberry Jamaican Equities Limited purchased 8,595 shares on November 23. A connected party of Mayberry Investments Limited purchased 5,000 shares on November 24. A connected party of Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited sold 100,000 shares for a consideration of $1.24 million on November 23 and sold 65,000 shares on November 24. Connected parties of NCB Financial Group Limited purchased 108,213 shares on November 29 while a connected party purchased 7,635 shares on November 30. An executive of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited sold 806,099 shares for a consideration of $41.51 million on November 30. A connected party of Kingston Wharves Limited sold 698,997 for a consideration of $20.97 million between November 28 to December 1. A director of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited sold 333 shares on December 2. A connected party of Massy Holdings Limited purchased 2,000,000 shares at TT$4.50 on December 7. A senior manager of Supreme Ventures Limited sold 37,000 shares while a related entity purchased 300,000 shares for a consideration of $8.34 million between December 2 to 8.

A non-executive director of GraceKennedy Limited was granted 3,177 shares in the company on November 29 as part of their 2022 compensation while senior officers acquired a total of 7,400 shares as part of the GK100 stock offer.

Kingston Properties Limited purchased 55,000 shares at an average price of $7.16 between December 2 to 5 under its share buy-back programme. Community & Workers of Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union Limited purchased 91,509 shares for $162,706.02 between November 23 to 29 under its share buy-back programme.

The completion date for the Jamaica Producers Group Limited and PanJam Investment Limited amalgamation is March 31, 2023.

Chamika Cuffy has been appointed the chief financial officer and company secretary of Berger Paints Jamaica Limited effective September 30.

Kimala Bennett will act as the chief financial officer (CFO) for The Limners and Bards Limited effective November 29 until a new CFO is appointed.

Damani Brown has resigned as the technical services manager of tTech Limited effective November 30, while Marsha Bucknor has been appointed to the role of sales and marketing manager effective December 1.

Ian Haynes has been appointed as a director of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited effective December 7.

Productive Business Solutions Limited (PBS) has declared a dividend of US$0.282361111 on its 9.25 per cent perpetual cumulative redeemable fixed rate USD preference shares while declaring a dividend of $30.78082192 on its 10.50 per cent perpetual cumulative redeemable fixed rate JMD preference shares. These dividends will be paid on January 20 to shareholders on record as of December 30 and total US$423,541 and $15,390,410 respectively.

Eppley Caribbean Property Fund – Value Fund will consider a final dividend payment at its board meeting today. Stanley Motta Limited and Tropical Battery Company Limited will consider dividend payments at their board meetings tomorrow.

The Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services Limited (Caricris ) has reaffirmed NCB Capital Markets Limited, NCB Merchant Bank (T&T) Limited and Guardian Holdings Limited’s ‘good’ (CariA) ratings and reaffirmed NCB Financial Group Limited’s ‘high’ (CariAA) rating. Caricris reaffirmed Proven Group Limited’s ‘adequate’ (CariBBB) credit rating.
