JC, STETHS win ISSA all-island junior football titles
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica- Jamaica College and St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) were crowned ISSA All-island high schoolboy football Under-14 and Under-16 champions respectively, after winning their finals played at the STETHS Sports Complex in Santa Cruz on Thursday.
Jamaica College beat STETHS 2-0 in the Under-14 final, in the first game of the double- header before STETHS beat Campion College 4-1 in the Under-16 play-off.
Rwanie Rampasaul in the 39th minute and Jamone Lyle in the 69th minute scored for Jamaica College, less than 24 hours after their senior counterparts lost 3-0 in the Olivier Shield play-off against Clarendon College.
In the Under-16 final, Justin McPherson scored a hat-trick to lead STETHS and were up 2-0 at half time.
Deandre Barnett gave STETHS the lead in the sixth minute before McPherson started his run with a goal in the 30th minute.
McPherson added another goal in the 41st minute before Matthew Rhule pulled a goal back for Campion in the 52nd minute before McPherson completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute.
