Reggae Youths loses first game in St James Sandals Major League
ST JAMES, Jamaica— Reggae Youths suffered their first loss in the St James Football Association/Sandals Resorts International Major League after they were beaten 2-0 by Flankers FC in their return round game in St James on Thursday.
Flankers FC avenged their first-round 3-1 loss and moved past Lilliput Rovers into second place on 17 points and stalled Reggae Youths’ passage to the semi-finals.
Reggae Youths finished the game with nine players after Chadane Blagrove and Nicholas Williams were both sent off.
Cambridge FC needs only a point from their game against winless Montego Bay Boys Club on Friday at the UDC Field to get into the top four and in a position to make a run at the semis.
Cambridge FC and Granville United are both on 13 points.
On Thursday, Danique Clarke gave Flankers FC the lead in the seventh minute, scoring his joint-leading fifth goal.
Tevin Fuller scored a second goal in the 27th minute to cement Flankers FC’s fifth win of the season.
