Ian Forbes, organiser of the meet, said all is in place for a very successful staging of this year’s meet and, therefore, is expecting some exciting competition from all the schools at the championship.
“I am feeling very good about this year’s meet because everything is in place for things to be executed flawlessly,” said Forbes.
“The team was working throughout the holiday to ensure that everything is in order and so we are fully prepared to have a very good meet to start off this calendar year,” he said.
“The entries are pretty good because all the top schools will be there and so we are expecting some high quality performances from both boys and girls throughout the meet,” Forbes said.
A maximum of four competitors are allowed per class, per event for each team. The meet is also a qualifying event for this year’s ISSA boys’ and girls’ athletics championships to be held at the National Stadium in March.
This year’s honorees are Ortis Wynter, Duane Cunningham, Brandon Samms, and Darren Virtue.
