TAJ warns of recruitment scam
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising the public that it is aware that a scam is underway, purporting to be a recruitment activity being conducted by the authority, and as such the TAJ says it is taking the opportunity to “unequivocally disassociate” itself from the fraudulent activity, and any associated material or tools being circulated in the digital space.
The TAJ made the comments in a press release on Thursday.
“Tax Administration Jamaica has taken the necessary steps to alert the relevant authorities, advise staff of current developments and to ensure that members of the public have access to legitimate communication from the organisation concerning the matter,” the authority said.
At the same time the TAJ further advised the public that it does not conduct its recruitment processes in this manner, “and is in strict adherence to the recruitment guidelines of the organisation and Government of Jamaica, to ensure transparency, fairness, and equity.”
