‘Ginger’ Knight’s curtain call
The thearte fraternity, as well as many family, friends and well-wishers said farewell to Keith “Ginger” Knight on Thursday at a thanksgiving mass held at Christ Church (Anglican), Vineyard Town.
He died February 23, 2023 at 71 years old.
Knight, for several years, was a mover and shaker in Jamaican theatre. He wrote and produced nearly 20 plays. One of them, Room For Rent, was made into a movie in 2007. He also wrote the book Jamaica, Land of Wood, Water And Olympic Writers, released in 2015, and is the holder of three Actor Boy awards.
Actress Deon Silvera, in her tribute, recalled many experiences working with him and the friendships that developed because of the ‘measure of the man’.
We share scenes from the service.
