Whenever Everton “E-Dee” Dennis attends a première for a movie in which he is involved, the Jamaican actor believes it takes him one step further to major roles.

His latest red carpet appearance is scheduled for March 25 at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverley Hills, Los Angeles. Occasion is the première of Mother In Law, a ‘dramedy’ starring veteran American actors Vivica A Fox and Miguel A Nunez Jr.

Dennis plays Jungle Lion, a criminal who kidnaps the bride-to-be.

The film is directed by Ghanaian Prince Joshua Nana Morrison Budukuma, a rising star in African cinema.

“This the most films I have done since Out The Gate. It’s like a snowball starting slowly and building up,” said Dennis.

Based on his life, Out The Gate was Dennis’s first movie. Released in 2011, he co-starred in it alongside Oliver Samuels and Paul Campbell.

Since then, the Clarendon-born actor/deejay has appeared in movies such as Chocolate City 3 and Gangland The Musical, both directed by Jean-Claude La Marre.

Temperature Rising, another movie featuring Dennis, is expected to be released this year.

Mother In Law also stars African actors Adjetey Anang and Patience Ozokwo, whose son wants to marry his African-American girlfriend. Both parents, however, are against the union because of cultural differences.

Dennis has been in Hollywood for 20 years, doubling as an actor and recording artiste. He has released three albums, the most recent being Elevate, which came out in May last year.
