#Champs2023: Holmwood’s Mitchell breaks 13-y-o Class 1 Girls’ 1500m record
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jodyann Mitchell of Holmwood Technical High claimed the gold while breaking a 13-year-old record in the Class 1 Girls’ 1500m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Championships.
Mitchell, who also won gold in the event at last year’s edition of the championship, stormed to a time of 4:29.42.
The previous record of 4:29.81 was set by Natoya Goule of Manchester High in 2010.
Meanwhile, the silver was won by Kishay Rowe of Alphansus Davis and the bronze went to Danielle King of Hydel High.
