National senior men’s football invitee Nicholas Hamilton is looking forward to establishing himself in the Finnish League with second division club FF Jaro for the upcoming season.

Earlier this week, Hamilton, 27, signed a one-year loan deal with FF Jaro from reigning Jamaica Premier League champions Harbour View.

The attacking midfield player is no stranger to Europe after a stint with Dundee FC in Scotland in the 2021-2022 season.

“It is a good opportunity to move outside and train in Europe again and hopefully I can make the most of this opportunity and stay on this side of the world,” Hamilton told the Jamaica Observer from his base in Finland.

“To get a chance to come into Europe again, of course, it is a big move so I just have to make the most of it and just do what I have to do by performing very well,” he said.

Hamilton, who is known for his silky dribbling skills, passing ability and extraordinary goals, netted six goals in 16 appearances for Harbour View this season.

The former Holy Trinity High schoolboy standout said his main focus is to finish the season in double figures on the scoring chart and also to help the team to secure promotion to the top division.

“My aim is to get double figures in goals because I have seen the competition and I know that I can do it. I think that if I score 15 goals then I can definitely make a move to the top division,” Hamilton said.

“I am hoping that we can get promoted so that I can stay at this club, but if not hopefully, I can score some goals and move onto a bigger club in the league at the end of the season,” he said.

Hamilton said he is very eager to get started with his new.

“I have been at this club just under a week and it is a really nice club because we are in a small town and all of the fans are behind us so we just need to go out there and have a good season and get promoted to the top.

“It is a club that was in the top division before and they have hopes of going back and so we just have to do the best that we can to qualify for the top division again this season,” Hamilton pointed out.
