Bringing back the love
Rainforest Caribbean has partnered with Food For the Poor (FFP) in its ‘Build Back the Love for Jamaica’ campaign by donating $1 million to assist with sustainable development programmes, shelter, and training for families in need across the island.
During the cheque presentation last week at Rainforest’s office in Kingston, Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Roger Lyn said the company was proud of its long-standing association with FFP expressed pleasure at being able to again partner with the charity on “another transformative and impactful project”.
“We have witnessed the powerful impact that their initiatives have had on vulnerable families, as well as the long-term benefits for community development and nation-building, and as a result, had to get involved in this ongoing campaign. We also recognise the importance of helping to develop a more sustainable Jamaica,” Lyn said.
The charity’s Development and Marketing Manager Marsha Burrell-Rose explained that the campaign is “part of a global initiative strategically designed to improve the socio-economic conditions of individuals and their families through the provision of shelter, and by implementing sustainable projects, and providing practical resources and training for persons, thus establishing viable economic avenues for beneficiaries”.
Build Back the Love for Jamaica is FFP’s 2023 initiative in commemoration of the charity’s 40th anniversary in Jamaica. The campaign, FFP said, is a direct response to the serious socio-economic challenges facing the country.
As part of the campaign, FFP is also targeting a minimum 400,000 people globally to donate either $1,000, US$10.00, CAD$10.00, or £10.00 to each.
