Dancehall artiste Shaney Blaxx always felt the need to highlight his spirituality in song. He did just that with his latest collaboration Clean Like Jesus, which features Trinidadian dancehall artiste Yung Bredda.

The collaboration, Shaney Blaxx said, came about after he reached out to the Trinidadian artiste and his team.

“I reached out to Yung Bredda and his team and explained the project to them. They liked it, and so they decided they wanted to be a part of it. It was a joy working with Yung Bredda and his team and I hope we can do some more work in the future,” said Shaney Blaxx.

Clean Like Jesus was produced by X-Kaliba Records.

Several Jamaican acts have over the years collaborated with regional artistes including those from Trinidad and Tobago. They include Macka Diamond and Patrice Roberts, Busy Signal and Mr Renzo, Vybz Kartel and Machel Montano and Teejay and Nailah Blackman.

Shaney Blaxx is hoping that Clean Like Jesus will take him into new territories.

“I want this collaboration to show the people that I am a versatile artiste and that my music is for listeners of all ages. I am hoping to tap into other demographics to showcase my musical capabilities,” Shaney Blaxx reasoned.

As for the inspiration behind the song Clean Like Jesus, he said “More time mi dress so clean, even mi soul feel cleanse, mi feel spiritually uplifted. Dem say cleanliness is next to godliness. So, mi just say, mi clean like Jesus.”
