Cornaldi and Flankers clash in U-13 football
TUCKER, St James — Zone B leaders Corinaldi Avenue and Flankers Primary School will meet in a game that could decide the winner of the group in the St James Football Association VM Foundation Uplift U-13 at Wespow Park on Tuesday.
Both have won their first two games and are tied on six points, with Corinaldi Avenue Primary marginally ahead on goal difference. If there is a winner in their game, that team would take a big step toward winning the group.
Meanwhile, Mt Salem and Irwin Primary schools will also be going after their second win when they take on Barrett Town and Lethe Primary respectively.
Barrett Town and Lethe are yet to win a game after two starts each.
Howard Cooke Primary, in the meantime, took over the lead in Zone A after they were awarded points when Dumfries Primary failed to show up for their game on Monday.
Howard Cooke is now on seven points, one more than Montego Bay Prep who upset champions Granville Primary 3-0 and Anchovy Primary who beat Somerton 2-1.
Zamundha Brown scored two goals, in the 40th and 59th minutes for Montego Bay Prep in their big win after Mikel Haynes gave them the lead in the 39th minute.
Anchovy had back-to-back wins after losing their first game to Montego Bay Prep when they beat Somerton with goals from Onardo Flowers in the 29th minute and Jevaughn Campbell in the 37th minute while Romeege Saunders scored a consolation goal for Somerton in the 48th minute.
