Sandals MoBay region reads with Chetwood Memorial
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Dressed like popular storybook characters and beaming with joy at the prospect of being awarded trophies for their efforts at reading aloud, students of Chetwood Memorial Primary School were obviously having a good time on Tuesday as they celebrated Read Across Jamaica Day.
They warmly welcomed general managers from Sandals Resorts in the Montego Bay region who, along with other members of their teams, read aloud to students.
In addition to trophies, the children received prizes, some of which were donated by Sandals.
Observed as part of Child Month and Education Week, Read Across Jamaica Day aims to promote a passion for reading and the significance of literacy throughout the island’s schools. Here are some highlights from Chetwood Memorial Primary.
