Dear Claudienne,

I was granted a Scotia unsecured loan in July 2017, in the sum of $273,590.00. A letter dated October 10, 2022, advised me that my liability was settled and my final payment was made in July 2022. However, for August and September 2022, deductions were made to the Scotia loan account, because a written instruction was not communicated to my accountant to stop the deductions.

I am hereby seeking your assistance to recover $13,014.50. Your prompt attention will be greatly appreciated.

On April 25, 2023 Tell Claudienne contacted Scotiabank in regard to your concerns. Scotiabank then sent you the following email:

“We acknowledge receipt of your email dated April 25, 2023 and for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention. We sincerely regret the experience you have described and assure you that we will investigate the issues you have raised and contact you within five (5) business days to formally advise our response.

Your feedback is very important to us, and will certainly assist us in our efforts to serve you better and provide consistent customer experience. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to you and thank you for your continued support.”

On May 1, 2023 you received an email from the Customer Service Unit at Scotiabank in which the following was stated:

“We wish to advise that the payments in question have been located and we are now working with the branch to have the same applied to your account.”

On May 5 you sent Tell Claudienne this message:

“I am very, very appreciative and commend you on reaching out to the Bank of Nova Scotia on my behalf… The funds were located and sent to my account.”
