Rumvolution gets its stripes

In an epic night destined to be etched in the records of innovation, Red Stripe presented Rumvolution.

Curated by entertainment giants, Dream Entertainment and Romeich Entertainment, the party energy left patrons wanting more and eargerly anticipating what is in store for summer 2023.

The concept of the event was to kick off the summer by embracing the spirited showdown between the invigorating realms of soca and dancehall.

This event served as a veritable prelude of novelty with vibes reminiscent of the celebrated clash days.

Representing dancehall, team Cranberry, boasting the musical prowess of DJ Banka, Shukkle Bus, and DJ Mental, ignited the patrons with pulsating beats. On the opposing front, showing up for soca music, was Team Coconut Pine, comprising the talents of Brush1, DJ Franco, and Riche Ras.

Whap Whap hitmaker Skillibeng opened the concert section of the night with the latest hit Know Why.

Draped in a resolute gray hoodie, Roze Don emerged as a modern-day dancehall Cassanova captivating the hearts of the ladies. His recently released masterpiece, BakShat, left an indelible mark upon the collective consciousness.

The resounding echoes of the chart-topping track One Word Boss filled Mas Camp as, draped in a ski mask and a striking emerald jacket, complemented by matching green dunks, Ja Frass took hold of the party, leaving patrons seemingly spellbound.

Upon entering the venue attendees were immediately captivated by the Rum Stripe dancers in vibrant hues of yellow and red — no doubt paying homage to Rum Stripe’s premier flavours of coconut pine and cranberry.

Some 5,000 fortunate souls secured their place to bear witness to a line-up ready to rumble.

The highlight of the evening for some was when Skeng Don finally stepped out on the stage. Dressed in a white T-shirt and backpack, he wowed the crowd with the invigorating 2022 hit London.

Fast-rising Dunce Cheque star Valiant delivered a performance that had the crowd enraptured.

One patron described it as “an amazing experience”.

The showcase of up-and-coming talent under the auspices of a signature Jamaican brand creating a party atmosphere that signala a blazing summer 2023.
