Teejay inks deal with Warner Music

Dancehall artiste Teejay on Friday inked a deal with Warner Music Group in Manhattan, New York.

Solid Agency, which manages the artiste, made the announcement in a press release, describing the signing as “dancehall’s biggest deal for the year”. However, details of the deal were not provided in the release.

Teejay, who is currently on a high with his hit song Drift, expressed enthusiasm over the deal.

“Me Feel Good… a music we a duh from long time and me hard work is finally paying off!!” dis is just the start!!… Drift,” he said.

Meanwhile, Guy Moot, Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music (WCM), said he is happy to see dancehall music and another Jamaican artiste in this context and on the global rise.

Moot has been influential with Jamaicans over two decades, having worked with Steely and Clevie, Stefflon Don and Stephen ‘the genius’ McGregor’s among others.

Solid Agency boss Sharon Burke said there were a myriad of offers on the table for Teejay, but indicated that the team felt at home with Warner.

“TeeJay will do well because he is a good artiste who is committed to the music and the journey to the top,” Burke said.

TeeJay’s Drift is viral on TIK TOK with over 20 million views. It has also blown up internationally with the biggest numbers in London, New York, Atlanta and Africa, the release stated.
