Garwood church murder case pushed back to Tuesday
TRELAWNY, JAMAICA—The matter involving Javan Garwood, the alleged mastermind in the killing of his stepmother, Andrea Lowe Garwood, the woman who was shot and killed in a church in Falmouth, Trelawny two years ago, had a slight delay when it was called up in court on Monday.
Evidence submission was slated to begin on Monday afternoon but a late start at just about 4:00 pm proved to be less than ideal to carry out the demands of the matter.

Chief Justice Bryan Sykes, who is presiding over the matter, instead asked the jurors to return on Tuesday, July 11 for the trial to proceed.
Garwood is accused of masterminding the killing of his stepmother as she participated in praise and worship at the Agape Christian Fellowship church in January 2021.
When he appeared in court on July 3, he pled not guilty to charges of murder and accessory before the fact.

However, two other individuals charged in the case, Leon Hines – the getaway driver – and Dwight Bingham, the triggerman have already pled guilty in the matter.
Hines benefitted from a plea deal and was sentenced to six years when his matter was called up in 2021.
Bingham is slated to be sentenced on July 25.
