Back-to-back wins for Fraser-Pryce
Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won back-to-back 100m races, setting meet records in both after she clocked 10.83 seconds (-0.1m/s) at the Meet de Madrid on Saturday. Her victory comes just two days after she ran her first 100m of the season in Luzern, Switzerland.
Fraser-Pryce who had run 10.82 seconds on Thursday, failed to get off
to her usual fast start but caught the field early and ran away to win easily ahead of Spain’s Jael Sakura Bestue, who was just ahead of Jamaican Shasalee Forbes.
Fraser-Pryce broke the meeting record 10.92 seconds set in 2013 by
the American Barbara Pierre.
Meanwhile, Megan Tapper won the 100m hurdles A race in 12.69 seconds (0.3m/s), beating American Tonea Marshall- 12.74 seconds and Ebony Morrison of Liberia-12.81 seconds, her season’s best.
Tyler Mason was fourth in the 110m hurdles in 13.41 seconds (0.3m/s)
just ahead of Orlando Bennett- 13.43 seconds.
