Expect some ‘Positivity’ in Overnight call
TEN runners are down to compete in Division 2 of the three-year-old and upwards Overnight Allowance contest over 7½ furlongs (1,500m).
Below, the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide analyses the runners and their chances of winning the major share of the $1.14-million total purse on offer.
1. BILLY WHIZZ (5 ch g by Northern Giant – Khadiliah) – Slowly but surely rounding into form. Billy Whizz finished in fourth position by five lengths behind Sweet Majesty over 6½ furlongs (1,300m) on June 17. Billy Whizz having got that blow out is expected to put in a closer effort in this one.
2. SUNSET SILHOUTTE (4 b f by Northern Giant – Ahwhofah) – Comes into this race on the backend of two consecutive wins. Sunset Silhoutte is going to need time to wet her hoofs at this level before she can be competitive.
3. TAURUS BOY (USA) (5 b h by Speighster – Mc Duffie) – Taurus Boy has no form to be recommended for a winning run. Note, Taurus Boy races with the visor off, and the figure eight on.
4. CRIMSON (7 b g by Nuclear Wayne – Sarah Barracuda) – Has been struggling in recent times. Crimson has not run a decent race in his last four outings thus little or no improvement is expected.
5. FREEDOM STREET (4 b g by Uncaptured – Nofashionsense) – Finished fourth over the straight (1,000m) behind Lure of Lucy on July 22. Freedom Street is going to enjoy this pace and could cause some anxious moments for rivals.
6. BIG BIG DADDY (6 dkb h by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Has been a disappointment of late. Big Big Daddy came to the races with high hopes but failed to make an impact on numerous occasions and so he is only to be taken on trust.
7. HELICOPTER (6 b g by Storm Craft – Face Factor) – Should be bypassed here.
8. JOHNCROWJEFF (5 b g by Natural Selection – Sweetyourock) – Has no chance of winning this one.
9. REGAL AND ROYAL (5 b h by Soul Warrior – Wap) – Has not done anything in his four starts at this level so far. Regal and Royal is going to be left behind.
10. POSITIVE ID (5 b h by Bern Identity – Bubble Gal Bubble) – Steps down in class to compete in this one. Positive ID last raced on June 10 when he finished seventh behind I Am Fred in The Viceroy Trophy over one mile (1,600m). Positive ID should have no problems putting away rivals here in registering his sixth career win.
