Three former winners score second wins in ISSA daCosta Cup

Three former winners score second wins in ISSA daCosta Cup

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Former champions Frome Technical, Rusea’s High and St Elizabeth Technical, extended their winning starts in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition following Friday’s round of matches.

Frome Technical outscored Cambridge High 3-2; Rusea’s High edged Green Island High 1-0 and STETHS were 2-0 winners over Maggotty High School.

Five more schools also stayed perfect as there were wins for Cedric Titus High, Belair High, Manchester High, BB Coke and Annotto Bay.

Stevaughn Spence scored a hat-trick for Frome Technical as they scored back-to-back wins with a 3-2 margin over Cambridge High who got a double from Jayr Moore.

Frome led from the first minute but Cambridge who lost 6-1 in their opening game, got back with goals from Moore in the 18th and 42nd minutes.

Cambridge High did not get to celebrate as Spence drew Frome back level in the 43rd minute then scored his third and the winner in the 58th minute.

Damar Sailsman scored in back-to-back games as he got the lone goal for Rusea’s High against Green Island.

Cedric Titus brought Ocho Rios High back to earth after clipping them 2-1 in Clark’s Town, days after Ocho Rios had beaten Discovery Bay High 15-0.

Belair High, who scored eight goals on Tuesday, beat Mt St Joseph High 5-0, the same margin that Manchester High got by DeCarteret College.

BB Coke stayed perfect after edging Lacovia High 1-0, while Annotto Bay High beat Carron Hall High 9-0.

Amari Reid scored a hat-trick for William Knibb Memorial who bounced back from their loss to Brown’sTown to beat Ferncourt High 10-0, while St Mary High beat Iona High 8-0.
