Nine more d’Cup schools win three straight
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Nine schools led by defending champions Clarendon College, including two former winners St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) and Garvey Maceo, all won their third straight game in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition on Wednesday.
The nine, which also includes Cedric Titus High, Manchester High, Belair High, Morant Bay High, Edwin Allen High and BB Coke High, join Rusea’s High, Glenmuir High, Knox College and Annotto Bay High who had won their first three.
Malachi Douglas scored a hat-trick to lead Clarendon College to an 8-0 win over Claude McKay as they assumed the lead in Zone H over Edwin Allen who were 6-0 winners over Kellits High with Tajay Thomas and Patrick Harrison both getting a brace each.
Dontae Campbell and Kenoy Bamton also got two goals each for STETHS who rolled past Newell High 8-0, while Garvey Maceo High beat Vere Technical 4-0.
Michael Golding scored a hat-trick as Morant Bay High hammered Robert Lightbourne High 12-0; Manchester High were 11-0 winners over Cross Keys High as Jhamar Brown scored four times, Adrian Campbell scored three and Javier Newman scored two.
Cedric Titus were also in double digits as they beat Discovery Bay high 10-0 with Mackode Barrett scoring three goals and Jason Eccleston and Rasheed Henry both scoring two each.
BB Coke edged Maggotty High 2-1 for their third win and Belair High were 1-0 winners over DeCarteret College.
Lacovia High got their first win of the season in style with a 10-2 win over Roger Clarke High, while Horace Clarke High blanked Carron Hall High 8-0.
Meanwhile, Ocho Rios High surprised William Knibb High , edging them 1-0 in Martha Brae, Brown’s Town beat Aabuthnott Gallimore High 2-0 and York Castle were 3-0 winners over Ferncourt High.
