Sandals Foundation brings out the numbers
MORE than 400 Sandals Foundation volunteers across Jamaica, Grenada, Curacao, The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Barbados, Antigua, and Saint Lucia went out this past weekend, clearing more than 6,000 pounds of garbage from the region’s coasts.
Joining the world’s largest volunteer mission, the effort brings welcome relief to the island’s marine ecosystem and the overall health of our beaches.
Sandals Foundation volunteers from Sandals South Coast visited Whitehouse Fish Market in Westmoreland in an effort to assist in safeguarding the region’s coastlines and educate the fisherfolk who occupy the area.
The team in Ocho Rios joined forces to give Fisherman’s and Javris beaches some much-needed love, while the team in Montego Bay region ventured to the Whitehouse Beach strip and Salt Marsh in Trelawny.
